At Seattle Cyclocross we have always been about giving back to our racing and cycling community. We worked for many years to support the Marymoore Velodrome, have financially supported all of our local racers who have attended Euro Cross Camp, and we find local charities to donate race profits to every year.

This ‘cross season is no different, as we are teaming up with New Belgium Brewing of Fort Collins, CO support the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation and the Major Taylor Project.

We will be doing this in two ways and they both can make you feel good inside and well…inside about helping as well (the second of those being from when you imbibe some tasty fermented goodness).

1. We are going to be hosting beer gardens at two races this year (SCX #5 and SCX #7) with all proceeds going directly to these great groups. The beer will be free for racers, friends and family members (21+), but we are heavily suggesting you place a few bucks in the tip jar to support CBEC and MTP. Once again, 100% of tips and donations will go to these groups.

2. Have you ever wanted one of those sweet, retro Fat Tire cruiser bikes? Well, we will be holding a drawing for one at our season awards party and you can win one by purchasing a raffle ticket (or 17) at one of our four remaining races or the party. The bike will be on display for you to oogle and drool over at all remaining races so hurry up and buy your tickets before it is too late.

We will hold the drawing on the evening of Nov. 26th during our awards party at Elysian Fields. So there you have it folks. Our goal this year is to raise $2500 for these two fabulous groups that do a whole lot of good in our Pacific Northwest cycling community. See you out on the road and trail.
