Hopefully you will have awakened from your tryptophan induced slumbers by the following Sunday for SCX #7. This is our season finale at Evergreen Fairgrounds in Monroe and is worth double points in all series categories! By far the most Belgian-inspired course we have in the State, hands down this race will leave you smiling ear to ear. While there are plenty of hard-packed roads and flat grassy areas to ramp up the speed, the sharp descents, off camber hills and mud sections will challenge all who turn the pedals in anger and leave racers with more confidence and skills for the future.
The course will follow a similar outline as years passed, starting racers in the parking lot, then sending them up to the grassy “upper deck” before forcing them to negotiate a technical off-camber downhill before a short, steep run up and then a slow slog through a flat mud and hard packed sand section. Oh, and when you factor in the New Belgium beer garden, and awards ceremonies for all the Junior Categories and this will surely be a great day of racing.
